What we Supply from the Store
Gordon Brown is actively involved in creating and supporting Multibanks to address poverty and reduce waste. It’s a compassionate and practical approach to helping families in need and combines various types of banks (such as food banks, clothes banks, toiletries banks, and more) into one comprehensive resource.

What is a Multibank?

A multibank is essentially a bank of banks. It provides a wide range of essential goods to households in need, going beyond just food or clothing. These goods include crockery, cooking equipment, soft furnishings, decorations, basic foodstuffs, toiletries, and hygiene products. The goal is to help families live in decent homes, ensure children can go to school in new clothes, and alleviate worries about basic necessities. Multibanks are a great example of the circular economy, reducing waste while addressing poverty.

How Does It Work?

Local charities run Multibanks, and they know their communities well. Social workers, teachers, and health visitors can receive items from Multibanks for families and children in need with the recipients remaining completely anonymous. And, of course, instead of surplus goods being wasted or destroyed as they used to be, they are used to benefit those in greatest need.
As shown in the video, all profits from the sale of items on Opportunity Warehouse go towards supporting the Multibank Initiative and those families and children most in need. On their behalf, we say “Thank You” to all of our customers.
